We are pleased to announce that we took part in Dentistry From the Heart on Saturday, April 24, 2010. Over 60 patients were treated!  Our entire team and other dental care professionals participated in Dentistry From the Heart.  Our practice understands that many people need dental services, but have no means to afford them - whether they are out of a job or just don't have dental insurance.

Dentistry From the Heart is our way of giving back to the community.  Our goal was to reach people with little or no discretionary income to afford quality dental care for themselves or their family members.  Patients had an opportunity to choose one of three services: a cleaning, a filling or an extraction.  If the patient required additional care, he or she was referred to a community dental clinic for care on a sliding fee schedule.

We would like to thank the following companies and individuals for their willingness to support Dentistry From the Heart. All care provided was on a volunteer basis and Dr. DeForno and his entire team were thrilled to donate their time to this wonderful cause. Colgate, Parkway, Schein and Patterson donated the necessary supplies for the day.   Dr. Peter Famiglio, Dr. Janet Chun and two additional staff members from Brandywine Dental Implant and Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery were on site providing care.  Other volunteers included students from our dental assisting program, Patrick DeForno and some of his classmates from dental school.   Brandywine Hospital  provided a health fair for all of our participants and they offered blood pressure screenings and much more.  Citadel Federal Credit Union and Mom's Bake-At-Home Pizza provided refreshments for our participants. Signal 88 Security also provided on site supervision and organization.  We would also like to thank Giant Food Store for providing us with a gift card so we could purchase breakfast for our volunteers.  We are thrilled to announce that Little Chef Restaurant supplied a healthy lunch for our volunteers.  Image Ink from Narberth, PA donated shirts for all of our volunteers as well!
