February, 2018 - National Childrens' Dental Health Month
During the week of February 19, our three hygienists Kathy Conahan, Sarah Mertz and Alex Gyuris visited several schools in Chester County to promote the importance of developing good habits at an early age and gives children a good start to a lifetime of healthy teeth and gums.
The girls gave demonstrations on the correct way to brush and floss as well as discussed the effect that eating certain foods can have on teeth and gums. The children were active little participants, engaged listeners and had many great questions. When asked "how long they should brush their teeth", one enthusiastic reply was "until infinity" - it seems he is on his way to developing healthy dental habits.

Associates supports Caln Community Day September 13,2014
This year Dr. DeForno and staff will be donating their time and
efforts to help Caln Community Days.
Last year TDA raised over $1500.00 that was donated to Thorndale
Volunteer Fire Company. This year TDA and
our local firemen would like to reach a goal of $3000.00. Once again we will have a dunk tank where Caln
Commissioners, Firemen and Dr. DeForno will be placed in the dunk tank. Last
year Dr. D. was dressed as a tooth fairy…. I wonder what he will be this year! In
addition we will also be raffling off two gift baskets. Some of the prizes will include a Kindle,
children’s video game, and gift cards to name a few items.
You may call or stop by the office to view the baskets or
make a donation to this wonderful cause.

Dentistry From the Heart was held this past April. Please take a look!
We are pleased to announce that we took part in Dentistry From the Heart on Saturday, April 24, 2010. Over 60 patients were treated! Our entire team and other dental care professionals participated in Dentistry From the Heart. Our practice understands that many people need dental services, but have no means to afford them - whether they are out of a job or just don't have dental insurance.
Dentistry From the Heart is our way of giving back to the community. Our goal was to reach people with little or no discretionary income to afford quality dental care for themselves or their family members. Patients had an opportunity to choose one of three services: a cleaning, a filling or an extraction. If the patient required additional care, he or she was referred to a community dental clinic for care on a sliding fee schedule.
For additional information, please visit the link below.
We would like to thank the following companies and individuals for their willingness to support Dentistry From the Heart. All care provided was on a volunteer basis and Dr. DeForno and his entire team were thrilled to donate their time to this wonderful cause. Colgate, Parkway, Schein and Patterson donated the necessary supplies for the day. Dr. Peter Famiglio, Dr. Janet Chun and two additional staff members from Brandywine Dental Implant and Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery were on site providing care. Other volunteers included students from our dental assisting program, Patrick DeForno and some of his classmates from dental school. Brandywine Hospital provided a health fair for all of our participants and they offered blood pressure screenings and much more. Citadel Federal Credit Union and Mom's Bake-At-Home Pizza provided refreshments for our participants. Signal 88 Security also provided on site supervision and organization. We would also like to thank Giant Food Store for providing us with a gift card so we could purchase breakfast for our volunteers. We are thrilled to announce that Little Chef Restaurant supplied a healthy lunch for our volunteers. Image Ink from Narberth, PA donated shirts for all of our volunteers as well!
